The Chinese horoscope serves as a map of our internal landscape that allows us to see the way we respond to our environment at a given time.

The Chinese people believe in the Twelve Earthly Branches which represent the earth chi. This refers to nature or destiny. The arrangement of these branches is based on the Five Elements and the Yin Yang Polarities. The four seasons are also being followed. These are the ones that compose the 12 Chinese zodiac signs namely the Ox, Rat, Rooster, Dog, Pig, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, and Tiger. These signs are fixed with the 12 months of the year and 12 signs of the zodiac.

To illustrate, observe the following.

The Rat and Ox go together with their elements yang (water) and yin (earth) respectively. Both their season is winter. Rats month is December while Oxs is January. Their hours are 23:00- 01:00 and 01:00-03:00 respectively.

The Tiger, Rabbit, and Dragon elements are! Yang (w ood), Yin (wood), and Yang (earth) respectively while all of these three share the same season which is spring. Tigers month is February, Rabbits is March, and Dragons is April. The hours of these three zodiac signs are successive starting with 03:00-05:00 for Tiger, 05:00-07:00 for Rabbit, and 07:00-09:00 for Dragon.

Snake, Horse, and Sheep also go together. Following the same order, their elements are Yin (fire), Yang (fire), and Yin (earth). Together, their season is summer. The hour for Snake is 09:00-11:00, for Horse is 11:00-13:00, and for Sheep is 13:00-15:00. The months of these signs are May, June, and July respectively.

Next three are the Monkey, Rooster, and Dog. The three elements of these particular signs are Yang (metal), Yin (metal), and Yang (earth) respectively. Autumn is the season they share. August is the month of the Monkey, September is the Roosters, and October is the Dogs. Accordingly, their hours are 15:00-17:00, 17:00-19:00, and 19:00-21:00 respectively.
